Collaborative Treatment Approach

The program is based on the Family Support Network (FSN) model, which recognizes that a young person’s well-being depends on the strength of their support system. The program helps teens and caregivers rebuild connection and resilience through family-centered treatment and collaborative planning. This approach focuses on five protective factors: parental resilience, social connection, support in times of need, knowledge of child development, and teen social-emotional competence.

Comprehensive Treatment Approach

Clinicians incorporate evidence-based and trauma-focused therapy, experiential learning, and mindfulness-based activities that help teens translate coping skills into everyday decisions. Psychiatric and medication management are available to support emotional stability and mental health needs throughout treatment.

Engaging Families Each Step of the Way

Parents and caregivers take part in therapy sessions, treatment team meetings, and discharge planning to ensure goals reflect both clinical and family priorities. This consistent engagement helps parents understand their teen’s recovery process while learning strategies to communicate more effectively and reinforce healthy behaviors at home. Family therapy and structured check-ins continue as part of step-down services to maintain alignment after discharge.

NAVIG8 integrates cultural responsiveness into treatment, respecting family compositions, backgrounds, languages, and identities. Staff are trained to adapt communication and treatment strategies so each family feels understood, supported, and empowered to contribute to their teen’s recovery plan.

Extending Support into Life After Treatment

Integrated Health Specialists collaborate with schools, juvenile justice, and other community systems to reinforce treatment goals in real-world environments. Services may include case management, academic support, peer mentoring, and aftercare follow-up through Assertive Continuing Care (ACC). This structure helps teens apply what they learn in treatment to school, family life, and community connections.
