Psychiatric stabilization for all ages

The center provides acute psychiatric stabilization for teens, children, and adults. This includes those who are experiencing severe depression, unstable emotions or moods, mania, psychosis, suicidal thoughts, or other types of severe behavioral concerns. The program involves short-term inpatient care with 24/7 monitoring by nurses and clinicians. Clients receive psychiatric evaluations, one-on-one and group therapy, and medications when needed. Adults with co-occurring substance use have access to withdrawal management (detox) and medications for addiction treatment (MAT) for safety and to ease symptoms and cravings. Staff also help clients create a discharge plan and can recommend and connect them to the next steps in treatment once they are stabilized.

Outpatient programs

For clients who need structured care without an inpatient stay, outpatient programs are available. Separate programs are offered for children over the age of 5, adolescents, and adults. Services include psychiatric evaluations, telehealth therapy, and medication management when needed. An intensive outpatient program is offered for teens. The adult outpatient program offers transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), a noninvasive technique to address treatment-resistant major depression.

Residential treatment for teen girls

Trauma-informed residential care is offered for girls ages 10–17 experiencing mental health crises and trauma who need structured support without acute hospitalization. It can also be a next-step option for girls after the acute care program. This program, known as the Pathways Residential Treatment Program, provides longer-term care for an average of 1–3 months. Girls receive therapy in a secure environment guided by clinicians. Medications can also be managed as needed.

Family involvement and academics

Especially for children and teens, families are an important part of care and are involved in the process. Families can also be involved in adult treatment when desired by the client. Family therapy is offered, and parents and guardians of children and teens can review aftercare plans before young clients are discharged. The teen girls’ residential program involves family support and integrated academics through on-site schooling. Lessons can be coordinated with home schools so girls don’t fall behind in their studies.
