Age and gender-specific residential care
Structured residential treatment is adapted to age and gender. The adolescent residential program is offered for teen boys ages 14 to 18. A trauma-informed residential track is provided for women, and a separate residential program is offered for men. The adult men’s and women’s programs consist of at least 25 hours of clinical work each week. All residential care tracks include one-on-one and group counseling, life skills training, relapse prevention, evidence-based therapy, and 12-Step groups.
Teen boys’ program with on-site school
Substance use treatment and academics are combined in the teen boys’ residential program. Education is delivered through a non-public alternative school approved by the state of Illinois. Classrooms are small and separated by gender. Educational support staff members assist teachers in each classroom. This setup allows boys to focus on their recovery without having to worry about falling behind in their studies.
Structure daily schedules
Clients in residential care can expect structured schedules and concrete daily expectations. Days include group therapy, wellness, life skills workshops, relapse prevention, and addiction education. Bedrooms are shared between approximately 3 clients. Family members can visit on Sundays between 2 and 4 p.m., and a family education group is held on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. After 14 days, clients may become eligible for home passes.
Addressing complex needs
Specialized care is provided for clients who have co-occurring mental health conditions, as well as those involved in the criminal justice or child welfare systems. Approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), aggression replacement training, anger management, balanced and restorative justice, living in balance, and the Texas Christian University Treatment System. The Matrix Model is used in outpatient care.

View all facilities in FloridaHow we research treatment facilities
Across the site, our team has conducted over 1,000 pre-admissions calls to better understand the patient experience, interviewed facility clinical leaders, performed facility background checks, and compared our information against trusted public data sources.
Our research process begins with data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), accrediting bodies including The Joint Commission and CARF, government licensing agencies, and other trusted sources. From there, our team conducts significant original research, including:
- Pre-admissions calls: We speak with admissions staff to get a candid picture of patient experience.
- Background checks: We review complaints from past clients, media reports, actions taken by accrediting bodies, and positive recognition from notable organizations.
- Clinical interviews: We have in-depth conversations with clinical leadership, often lasting up to one hour, that give us a better understanding of clinical care.
- Data partnerships: We ingest and analyze exclusive data that provides information about in-network insurance status, cost, and more.
Research varies by facility. Each facility profile shows which research steps we completed and when each step was last performed. Learn more about our research process and background checks.
How we evaluate treatment facilities
These data help us develop a Trust Score for each facility—a simple letter grade that helps you assess how much confidence to place in a facility based on the information available to us. Trust Score considers accreditation, operating history, notable recognition, and concerns identified during our background check. Our Trust Score is an objective rating that is never influenced by advertiser payment. Learn more about our Trust Score methodology.

A Trust Score is a starting point, not a guarantee of treatment quality or outcomes. Please contact us if you would like to update or correct facility information.
