Overview
Set in the residential Coral Ridge neighborhood, Sunrise Detox Fort Lauderdale provides medically supervised detox services for adults. Clients are monitored 24/7 by nursing staff to ensure safety and maximum comfort, and medications for addiction treatment (MAT) can be administered as needed to ease withdrawal symptoms. Once stabilized, clients can participate in 12-step meetings and evidence-based therapy. A dedicated program is available for veterans and military families.

Medically Supervised Detox
The center offers 24/7 medical supervision and nursing care for clients detoxing from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, or stimulants. On arrival, each client receives a full medical history, substance use assessment, and mental health screening. Based on these results, physicians develop a tailored plan that includes a combination of medications for addiction treatment (MAT), vital sign monitoring, and supportive counseling. Typical stays last 5–21 days, or as needed.

Therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, trauma-focused counseling, and 12-step facilitation. Clients can take part in individual, group, or family sessions once they are medically stable. Daily schedules include educational groups, stress management skills, and optional peer support meetings.
Amenities Designed for Comfort
Clients stay in private or shared bedrooms, many with private bathrooms. A television is available in each bedroom. Housekeeping, laundry service, and bathroom essentials are provided. Meals are prepared by an in-house chef, with dietary accommodations available. Comfortable lounges and outdoor areas offer space to relax, while flexible technology policies allow clients to stay connected to outside responsibilities. Transportation assistance is offered, including airport transfers.
Veteran and Military Program
The center offers a specialized program for veterans and military families. As part of the VA Community Care Network, the center partners with local VA providers to coordinate admissions, case management, and follow-up care. Services include evidence-based therapies, veteran-specific psychiatric support, peer mentoring, and MAT when needed. The program is designed to honor the experiences of veterans, providing continuity of care and a structured plan for ongoing recovery.
Transition and Aftercare Planning
Before discharge, clients meet with counselors to develop an individualized aftercare plan. Options may include residential rehab, intensive outpatient programs, or sober living, depending on needs and personal circumstances. Family members are encouraged to participate in planning, ensuring clients leave with both professional guidance and a supportive home environment.
