What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Admissions requirements: Before attending the program clients must have about five days of sobriety and safe and stable housing arrangements. An intake assessment must be completed before admission. Same-day admissions may be available.
- Collaborative treatment planning: Clients work with their care team as active members in planning their treatment. Goals and changes are discussed with the client and the program operates on transparency with regard to individual care recommendations and progress.
- Continued reassessment: Duration and progression of treatment is individualized with client needs and progress taken into consideration. Length of stay varies by individual.
Who you will meet with
- Clinical team: Master's-level therapists help clients during their programming. A psychiatric provider is also available through contracted services and can support medication management when found clinically appropriate.
- Additional support: Individual therapists, group facilitators, family therapy providers, and case management services support clients during their recovery.
Typical schedule
- Program schedule and hours: Core programming takes place Monday to Friday in the evenings from about 5-8:30 pm. Additional supportive programming is available from 3-5 p.m. to provide support for clients in greater need of structure and more treatment hours.
- Flexible attendance options: Clients can attend treatment in person, virtually, or choose a hybrid model that best fits their scheduling needs. Programs last an average of 12-20 weeks.
- Therapy: Group therapy is a major component of the program. Individual counseling sessions may be added based on client needs. Evidence-based therapies can include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-focused counseling, psychoeducation, and relapse prevention counseling. Family therapy is also available to support loved ones.
- Wellness beyond traditional therapy: Overall wellness is taken into consideration and may include meditation and mindfulness practices, holistic therapies, spiritual education, and expressive or creative therapies.
- PRIDE Program: Specialized LGBTQ+ affirming care is offered through the PRIDE Program, including identity-specific support groups and services. This is intended to support recovery in an inclusive setting that recognizes the unique experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals. Groups may address stigma and shame, HIV+ support, gender-specific concerns, as well as TransWellness programming for transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse individuals.
- Sexual health programming: Clients can address substance use and sexual behavior as an intersecting subject. This can include boundary-setting, trigger prevention, safety planning, and recovery-focused sexual health education.
Aftercare
- Continuing care and discharge planning: Clients receive discharge planning and ongoing care support to help them prepare for life after treatment. Ongoing therapy opportunities and educational programming may also be available as part of long-term recovery planning.
- Alumni and recovery community: Clients can stay connected after treatment by joining alumni programs, recovery events, celebrations, and peer support resources.
