Residential Care Designed for Teens
This program supports teens who are working through substance use and co-occurring challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, personality disorders, and suicidal ideations. With an average stay lasting 6–9 months, the program provides the structure and time needed to address root issues and practice healthier coping strategies. Each week includes about 25 hours of therapeutic programming, including individual, group, trauma-informed, family, and psychiatric care.
On-Site Accredited Education
Odyssey Academy, an accredited high school managed by the Salt Lake City School District, operates within the residential program. Small class sizes of no more than 12 students, alongside tailored assignments, help teens catch up on credits and re-engage in learning. By linking coursework to personal interests and career goals, the academy motivates students to see education as part of their long-term success.
Building Skills and Self-Confidence
Treatment extends beyond therapy to include practical skills like cooking, cleaning, and maintaining daily routines. Teens also take on leadership roles, which reinforce accountability and self-worth. Creative outlets such as yoga, dance, and art provide healthy ways to process emotions, while recreational outings and sober activities help them build connections and experience enjoyment in recovery.
Ongoing Support and Community
Odyssey House continues to support teens after residential care through outpatient programming, recovery coaching, vocational training, and a strong alumni community. These services offer continuity as young people return home and work toward stable, independent lives. The program combines evidence-based care with education and community-building to give teens the tools they need for lasting change.
