Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults looking for outpatient and step-down treatment; need to balance recovery with daily responsibilities; willing to participate in structured groups and peer support; seeking trauma-informed counseling; have private insurance, Medicare, TRICARE, state-funded insurance, or can self-pay.

  • Not a fit if: Those who need acute, hospital-level care; require detox or 24/7 residential treatment; want a self-directed treatment approach; not willing to participate in therapeutic programming; have Medicaid or are uninsured and unable to self-pay.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Detailed clinical assessment: Before someone is admitted, staff conduct a 15–20-minute phone call to better understand the client’s history of substance use, medical background, and any co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Adapted treatment planning: Each client is paired with a primary therapist who works with them to create a treatment plan that fits their personal needs.
  • Frequent reassessment: A multidisciplinary care team reviews care plans each week so adjustments can be made.

Who you will meet with

  • Therapists and counselors: Licensed, master’s-level clinicians lead one-on-one therapy sessions and groups.
  • Doctors and nurses: Attend to physical health needs throughout the program.
  • Psychiatrists: Meet with clients who have co-occurring mental health conditions to provide care and prescribe medications when appropriate.
  • Case managers: Assist clients with securing housing and connect them to self-help groups so they are set up before outpatient treatment ends.

Typical schedule

  • Partial hospitalization program (PHP): Runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday so clients have all-day care while still having their late afternoons and evenings free.
  • Daytime intensive outpatient program (IOP): Sessions are held on Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
  • Evening IOP: Held in the evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
  • Virtual IOP: Clients who need treatment entirely from home can attend IOP entirely through telehealth.
  • Sober living: Greenhouse Outpatient is paired with nearby Resolutions Arlington sober living, where clients in PHP or IOP can choose to reside. Staff can provide transportation to and from sessions.

Aftercare

  • Step-down transitions: Clients can start in either PHP or IOP, depending on their needs. They can transition up or down between care levels as they progress, or if they experience setbacks.
  • Alumni support: After treatment ends, people can stay connected to peers through an alumni network, which hosts meetings and community events. An alumni app is available to assist with organization.
