Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults who need medical detox followed by residential treatment; may have co-occurring substance use and mental health conditions; want a highly structured daily environment; are looking for 12-Step principles and recovery meetings; benefit from a smaller peer environment; and want help establishing their next steps before discharge.
  • Not a fit if: Adults who want frequent in-person family visitation; need unrestricted access to personal devices; desire an unstructured or recreation-heavy residential experience; prefer a non-12-Step program; and require a private bedroom.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Pre-admission assessment: Within 3–4 days before admission, clients undergo a 25–30-minute phone assessment that covers their substance use as well as their physical and mental health history. This helps the facility determine whether its programs can safely meet the client’s needs. Approval typically takes 30–60 minutes, and admission may be available sooner, potentially the same day or the day following the call.
  • Treatment planning: Upon admission, clients work one-on-one with a therapist as active participants in developing a care plan that reflects their goals. Individual therapy and group sessions help inform changes to the care plan based on client needs and progress.

Who you will meet with

  • Care team: Clients may work with licensed therapists during individual counseling and while developing their treatment plan. Group facilitators lead group counseling, balance sessions, and educational processing groups. The broader care team may include a nurse practitioner, nurses, a medical doctor, behavioral technicians, and certified peer support specialists.
  • Peer connections: Regular opportunities are available for clients to connect with peers through group counseling and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings.

Typical schedule

  • Daily programming: Much of the day focuses on individual therapy and group counseling. Programs may include 12-Step meetings, educational and processing groups, art and music therapy, yoga, and guided meditation. Clients are usually given a few hours of free time each day to decompress. Smoking is permitted at scheduled times in designated areas. Vaping is not permitted.
  • Contact with loved ones: Clients do not have access to in-person visits from family or loved ones. Therapists may arrange an approved contact schedule that allows clients to use facility phones approximately once a week on weekends. Personal electronic devices may be restricted as well.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Accommodations and amenities: Shared bedrooms accommodate no more than two clients and include queen-size beds. Clients have meals in a cafeteria-style catered dining setting. Between sessions, clients may have access to an in-house gym, sauna, recreation area, board games, video games, and a large room with multiple televisions.

Aftercare

  • Step-down care: Options for continued treatment include PHP, IOP, outpatient counseling, and telehealth aftercare. These programs can provide continued support as clients transition out of residential treatment.
  • Long-term recovery planning: Staff support clients by helping them develop a long-term care plan based on their goals. Planning may include identifying supportive housing options and local AA or NA meetings intended to support recovery after formal treatment.

Pre-admissions experience

We conducted a series of pre-admissions calls, the most recent on October 5, 2026, to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.

When we contacted Florida Springs, they answered right away and were calm, reassuring, and easy to talk to. They explained treatment, daily routines, and facility policies in detail without pressuring us to choose the program. They emphasized finding the right help, even if that meant going elsewhere.

How we research treatment facilities

Across the site, our team has conducted over 1,000 pre-admissions calls to better understand the patient experience, interviewed facility clinical leaders, performed facility background checks, and compared our information against trusted public data sources.

Our research process begins with data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), accrediting bodies including The Joint Commission and CARF, government licensing agencies, and other trusted sources. From there, our team conducts significant original research, including:

- Pre-admissions calls: We speak with admissions staff to get a candid picture of patient experience.

- Background checks: We review complaints from past clients, media reports, actions taken by accrediting bodies, and positive recognition from notable organizations.

- Clinical interviews: We have in-depth conversations with clinical leadership, often lasting up to one hour, that give us a better understanding of clinical care.

- Data partnerships: We ingest and analyze exclusive data that provides information about in-network insurance status, cost, and more.

Research varies by facility. Each facility profile shows which research steps we completed and when each step was last performed. Learn more about our research process and background checks.

How we evaluate treatment facilities

These data help us develop a Trust Score for each facility—a simple letter grade that helps you assess how much confidence to place in a facility based on the information available to us. Trust Score considers accreditation, operating history, notable recognition, and concerns identified during our background check. Our Trust Score is an objective rating that is never influenced by advertiser payment. Learn more about our Trust Score methodology.

We cannot guarantee the quality of treatment at any facility. We cannot independently confirm the accuracy of every data point, and some information may become outdated or change over time. A Trust Score is a starting point, not a guarantee of treatment quality or outcomes. Please contact us if you would like to update or correct facility information.
