EOSIS - Twin Town
Overview
Men’s residential substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment offering Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), an approach exploring moral and social effects of substance use. Each person is paired with an individual counselor so their needs can be addressed personally. In the high intensity program, men take part in 30 hours of therapy per week. When men step down to the low intensity program, this goes down to 15 hours a week. To help men stabilize, medications for addiction treatment (MAT) can be prescribed. Regular medical care is provided. This facility accepts private insurance, Medicaid, IHS, and state-funded insurance.

Residential Treatment Designed for Men
This 50-bed facility has specialized in treating men since the 1960s. The larger size of the program means men can make a lot of peer connections; a great way to find mutual support. Stays usually last 30 days, but this can be shorter or longer depending on what works best for the person. This type of setting can be of significant benefit to men who would feel more comfortable in a gender-specific program. It allows men to get to know and share with others who share their life experiences.
Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)
One of the main therapies that clinicians use is Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) — an evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral method that dives deep into the social and moral repercussions of substance use and centers around personal accountability and decision-making skills. This approach is often used for individuals involved in the criminal justice system, but can also apply to men facing other life situations.
Care for Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health
The facility is equipped to treat both substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions — from anxiety and depression to mood disorders and other psychiatric ailments. Along with MRT, approaches include: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and trauma counseling. Nurses have expertise in both medication management and psychiatry. Mental health medications can be prescribed when needed to help men who are in psychiatric crisis stabilize and get the most out of therapy.
Inclusive Program for All Walks of Life
Men from all types of backgrounds and life experiences can find help here. Programs can be tailored to veterans, active-duty military, men suffering from chronic pain, and those involved in the criminal justice system. Staff can provide transportation assistance when needed. A Behavioral Health Fund is available. This may help cover treatment for low-income or unemployed individuals.
Practical Aftercare
Men graduating from residential treatment can often use help getting back on their feet. Case managers can help connect people to housing and social services assistance. Overdose education — including naloxone training — is also provided. Men can also stay connected to long-term peer mentorship.
