Men’s Residential Care with 24/7 Support
Cochran Recovery Services provides community-based, medium-intensity residential care for adults who identify as male and are living with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns. This private nonprofit program offers a medically monitored setting with on-site nursing and staff supervision. Men stay in a structured environment where daily routines, therapy, and peer support all center on building a stronger foundation for long-term recovery.
Evidence-Based, Trauma-Informed Treatment for Co-Occurring Needs
Clinical services draw on evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, contingency management, the Matrix Model, and 12-step work. The program is trauma-informed and LGBTQIA+ friendly, with trauma-related counseling and anger management available. Cochran treats substance use and mental health concerns together, offering assessments and substance use counseling.
Practical Assistance with Health, Housing, and Work
Clients receive comprehensive substance use and mental health assessments, integrated primary care services, and suicide prevention support. Education covers HIV, hepatitis, and other health topics, along with substance use and tobacco cessation. Case management, assistance with social services, housing services, and employment counseling or training help clients stabilize key parts of life that can affect recovery. Recovery coaches, mentoring and peer support, self-help groups, aftercare and continuing care, and discharge planning — including naloxone and overdose education — support the transition back to the community.
Medication and Recovery-Friendly Approach
The program is supportive of clients using medications for addiction treatment (MAT) prescribed by outside providers. Cochran accepts clients who are using medications for alcohol use disorder or opioid use disorder that are managed elsewhere, helping them participate in residential care without disrupting established medication plans. Staff can coordinate with in-network or outside prescribers as needed.
Everyday Living and Community Environment
Clients live in shared bedrooms with shared bathrooms and air-conditioned rooms. Common spaces include relaxation lounges with sofas and TVs, a library or reading room, and an on-site fitness center. An in-house chef prepares meals in a commercial kitchen, and clients have access to a ping pong table and other communal areas. Outside, gardens, walking paths, and outdoor relaxation areas offer space to decompress between groups. The men-only environment gives clients the chance to connect with peers who are working through similar challenges.
