Developing your care plan

• Individualized programs: Therapists individualize treatment plans for each teen. They consider multiple factors when care planning, including mental health needs, substance use history, and family input.
• Family involvement: Parents participate in developing plans of care, and family therapy is integrated into treatment. Parents and caregivers receive ongoing updates and other communication from therapists throughout their child’s stay.
• Approaches to care: Teen clients attend daily individual and group therapy; for families seeking a Christian approach, an optional faith-based track is available. Different evidence-based approaches are used to treat both addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions, including trauma-informed care.

Who you will meet with

• Licensed therapists: Therapists focus on behavioral health by leading daily group therapy, working with clients in individual sessions, and holding family therapy sessions.
• Psychiatric nurse practitioners: Psychiatric nurse practitioners are responsible for daily medication management.
• Psychiatric physician: A psychiatrist oversees treatment for all clients.
• Nursing staff: Nursing staff provide 24-hour medical care and supervision.
• Support staff: Residential support staff members provide around-the-clock support, helping to meet client needs.

Typical schedule

• Clinical programming: Teens go to daily group therapy sessions as well as individual and family counseling. Experiential activities encourage physical activity and keep clients engaged in the daily routine by providing time outside traditional classroom or therapy room settings. Two on-campus therapy dogs are also available for support.
• Life outside of therapy: Outside of therapy sessions, teens can enjoy outdoor recreation activities and exercise, spending time with peers, and attending evening activities to connect with others, like movie nights.
• Academic support: Teens continue school while in treatment; both on-site and virtual learning opportunities are offered.

Living experiences and amenities

• Ranch-style campus with outdoor activities: Numerous outdoor activities are available on the ranch-style campus, which sits on 80 acres overlooking Eagle Mountain Lake. Teens can use the in-ground pool, outdoor gym and basketball court, and a rock climbing wall. Clients can also explore hiking trails, go fishing at Eagle Mountain Lake, or try zip lining.
• A residential atmosphere: Clients stay in dorm-style accommodations with shared bathrooms and living areas. Each bedroom has space for two to four boys, and there are approximately 40 clients in the program at one time.
• Family involvement: Families are encouraged to maintain connections through weekly phone calls, Saturday visitations, and continued communication with therapists. That said, families are not permitted to communicate with clients for the first seven days after admission to help teens adjust.

Aftercare

• Step-down options: Boys can transition directly into lower levels of care — PHP, IOP, or virtual IOP — within the same organization.
• Continued support: Families are encouraged to remain involved in treatment, and alumni support and ongoing recovery resources are provided.
