Center for Dependency, Addiction and Rehabilitation
Overview
Residential and outpatient substance use and mental health care integrated with University of Colorado Health (UCHealth) with on-site detox. The center is equipped to provide care for complicated physical health conditions. Treatment involves check-ins with an assigned counselor and 2 or 3 group therapy sessions every day. Clients can explore community recovery groups including 12-Step, science-based SMART Recovery, and Buddhism-based Recovery Dharma. The admissions team aims to help clients start treatment within 24 hours. Outpatient groups are intentionally kept small for focused participation. Who is this facility a good fit for?
Best fit if: Adults looking for withdrawal management, residential treatment, and outpatient programs on the same campus; have co-occurring mental health concerns or complex medical conditions; want to explore 12-Step and other community recovery groups; have private insurance, Medicaid, Health First Colorado plans, or are able to self-pay.
Not a fit if: Those looking for luxury accommodations and private rooms; prefer a rural treatment setting; not interested in frequent group therapy and medication management when needed; want a self-directed care approach; have Medicare or are uninsured and unable to self-pay.
What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Fast admissions: Admissions are open 24/7, and staff aim to help clients access treatment within 24 hours whenever possible.
- Assessments and evaluations: After an initial phone screening, clients sit down with a staff member for about 90 minutes to complete detailed paperwork. Clinicians then conduct physical and psychiatric exams.
- Client-centered planning: Clients are highly involved in the creation of their individualized treatment plans. They work with an assigned counselor to make a care plan and a relapse prevention plan that addresses their specific needs.
Who you will meet with
- Counselors and therapists: Each client is assigned a primary counselor when they enter residential care. Check-ins occur daily. Therapists and board-certified addiction medicine providers are on staff to work with clients and lead group sessions.
- Medical staff: Registered nurses and licensed clinicians tend to clients’ health needs, including complex medical matters. Nurses are available 24/7 during withdrawal management (detox), and a medical provider is on call.
- Psychiatrists: Addiction psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners work with clients who have co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Case managers and social workers: Work with clients from the start of treatment to help with practical matters such as employment, housing, and legal issues.
Typical schedule
- Detox: During withdrawal management, nurses attend to clients 24/7 to monitor safety and increase comfort as much as possible. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) for opioids and alcohol may be prescribed as needed.
- Structured days: Between 2 and 3 therapy groups are held every day, mainly in the morning and afternoons. Individual therapy sessions also occur during this time.
- Evidence-based therapies: Clinicians use proven therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing (MI).
- Community recovery groups: The center offers 12-Step meetings, SMART recovery, and Recovery Dharma. This allows clients to choose what works with their values.
Living experiences and amenities
- Shared accommodations: The large campus has about 50 beds. Rooms are usually shared between 2 clients. There is plenty of outdoor space for clients to walk around and socialize.
- Fitness and recreation: After groups conclude for the day, clients can go to the gym with the option to work with personal trainers. They can also play volleyball and do yoga.
- Communication, visitation, and family support: For the first 72 hours of residential care, no visitors are allowed. Afterward, loved ones can visit on weekends with counselor approval. Clients can use their personal smartphones twice a day to make outgoing calls. Families can attend support groups designed to help them support their loved ones in recovery.
Aftercare
- Step-down treatment: The center offers medical withdrawal management, residential care, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and continuing outpatient services such as individual counseling. Some virtual options are available. Clients can step up or down between care levels as their needs change.
- Continuing care: Staff can connect clients to community recovery groups, outside providers for counseling and mental health treatment, and alumni support groups.
Pre-admissions experience
We conducted a series of pre-admissions calls, the most recent on September 22, 2026, to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.
When we reached out to CeDAR, the admissions team was calm and responsive. They clearly walked us through length of stay, clinical oversight, detox processes, group frequencies, and amenities. The conversation felt transparent and direct, with detailed explanations around cost and admissions.

View all facilities in FloridaHow we research treatment facilities
Across the site, our team has conducted over 1,000 pre-admissions calls to better understand the patient experience, interviewed facility clinical leaders, performed facility background checks, and compared our information against trusted public data sources.
Our research process begins with data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), accrediting bodies including The Joint Commission and CARF, government licensing agencies, and other trusted sources. From there, our team conducts significant original research, including:
- Pre-admissions calls: We speak with admissions staff to get a candid picture of patient experience.
- Background checks: We review complaints from past clients, media reports, actions taken by accrediting bodies, and positive recognition from notable organizations.
- Clinical interviews: We have in-depth conversations with clinical leadership, often lasting up to one hour, that give us a better understanding of clinical care.
- Data partnerships: We ingest and analyze exclusive data that provides information about in-network insurance status, cost, and more.
Research varies by facility. Each facility profile shows which research steps we completed and when each step was last performed. Learn more about our research process and background checks.
How we evaluate treatment facilities
These data help us develop a Trust Score for each facility—a simple letter grade that helps you assess how much confidence to place in a facility based on the information available to us. Trust Score considers accreditation, operating history, notable recognition, and concerns identified during our background check. Our Trust Score is an objective rating that is never influenced by advertiser payment. Learn more about our Trust Score methodology.

We cannot guarantee the quality of treatment at any facility. We cannot independently confirm the accuracy of every data point, and some information may become outdated or change over time. A Trust Score is a starting point, not a guarantee of treatment quality or outcomes. Please contact us if you would like to update or correct facility information.
