Dedicated Treatment for Teens

The residential treatment program is designed specifically for adolescents ages 13–17 struggling with substance use, mental health concerns, or both. Evidence-based therapy and experiential activities are provided to keep teens active and engaged. The program’s CLICC framework — Commitment, Life Skills, Integrity, Connection, and Community — guides treatment, encouraging teens to build stronger habits and healthier relationships while working through the root causes of their struggles.

Family Involvement at Every Step

Families play an active role in the center’s recovery approach. Each week, parents and caregivers join family therapy sessions to address communication issues and rebuild mutual trust. Multi-family groups bring several families together to share experiences and support one another, which can help to reduce feelings of isolation. Parents also have access to a free virtual support group, open to all, where they can connect with others navigating similar challenges. Through this integration, families learn new tools, stay informed about their teen’s progress, and gain skills to create a healthier home environment after treatment.

Academic and Life Skills Support

Teens participate in two hours of classroom instruction led by a certified teacher every weekday. Schoolwork is coordinated directly with each teen’s home school to keep them current and ease the transition back after discharge. Beyond academics, the program emphasizes real-world preparation through vocational support and life skills training. Teens practice skills like time management, communication, and problem-solving while also exploring career and educational goals. This dual focus helps them maintain progress in school while gaining tools for greater independence and resilience.

Healing Through Wilderness and Equine Experiences

The center’s Rocky Mountain setting allows teens to engage in outdoor therapies that encourage growth. Wilderness therapy includes hiking, mindfulness exercises, and group activities in nature, helping teens reduce stress and develop healthier coping skills. Equine therapy gives teens the chance to work with horses under the guidance of trained staff. Through grooming, leading, and riding, they learn patience, responsibility, and nonverbal communication. These experiences help teens process emotions, build trust, and discover new strengths.
