Trauma-Informed Recovery for Women
The program is designed for women whose experiences with addiction are deeply tied to trauma. Many arrive after multiple treatment attempts, feeling stuck in cycles of relapse and emotional overwhelm. The program creates a safe environment where women can stabilize and work through the roots of their substance use. Staff use evidence-based therapies that emphasize emotional regulation and healing through connection. Group therapy and peer support are offered to help meet women where they are.
Detox and Medication Support for Safer Recovery
Clients are supported through early recovery with access to medications for addiction treatment (MAT) to ease withdrawal symptoms and support long-term stabilization. Clients already on MAT can continue treatment as part of their care plan. Medical and psychiatric staff offer medication management throughout all levels of care. For women with a history of relapse or chronic withdrawal challenges, this integrated approach helps reduce risk and increase the chances of sustained recovery.
Treatment for Co-Occurring Mental Health Conditions
Many women have experienced trauma that continues to shape their mental health and substance use patterns. The WORTH program is built to support these overlapping challenges with integrated care that addresses mental health and addiction together. Staff use a trauma-informed lens to guide individual and group therapy, ensuring that treatment feels safe and empowering. Psychiatric support, medication management, and peer groups are all coordinated to help women stabilize, process their experiences, and begin to rebuild.
Ongoing Support Through Peers, Planning, and Care Coordination
Each client works closely with a case manager to develop a personalized aftercare plan that may include continued therapy, housing support, employment resources, and peer-led groups. Alumni often stay connected after treatment for mutual encouragement. Both professional and peer-led support help clients stay grounded and help reduce the risk of isolation or relapse during critical transition periods.
Client Reviews
Reviews for New Roads Behavioral Health are mixed, with some praising the staff’s compassion, strong programming, and impact on long-term recovery, especially for those with co-occurring disorders.
