Adolescent-Specific Treatment for Ages 12–17

FCC Behavioral Health – Adolescent Horizons is a non-profit program dedicated exclusively to adolescents with substance use disorders. Serving teens ages 12–17, the program provides care for both male and female adolescents. As part of FCC Behavioral Health’s broader community-based network, Adolescent Horizons focuses on meeting teens where they are developmentally, academically, and socially.

Residential Group Homes on a Single Campus

The Kennett location offers residential treatment in supervised group homes designed to feel comfortable and structured rather than institutional. Two residential homes are located on the same campus as the treatment center, allowing for consistent clinical oversight and daily engagement in care. Teens receive 24-hour supervision and participate in a full schedule of therapeutic activities, including individual counseling, group counseling, recovery education, medical monitoring, and structured recreation. Meals and daily living support are provided on site.

Flexible Outpatient and Day Treatment Options

Adolescent Horizons provides several step-down options that allow teens to receive treatment while living at home. Day treatment is offered during the week, with structured therapeutic activities scheduled around each adolescent’s needs. Intensive outpatient (IOP) and supported recovery outpatient services are also available, with care delivered not only in the clinic but, when appropriate, in home and school settings. This flexibility helps teens continue their education and maintain family connections during treatment.

Integrated Support for Mental Health, Education, and Safety

In addition to substance use treatment, the program offers screening and comprehensive assessments that include mental health needs. Services include family counseling, social skills development, and case management. Academic education support is available during residential care to help teens stay on track with schoolwork. Safety-focused services such as suicide prevention support and medical oversight are also part of the program’s approach.

Medication Services and Transition Planning

Medication services may be included when clinically appropriate, including medications for addiction treatment (MAT) such as buprenorphine or naltrexone, as well as medication support for alcohol use disorder and mental health conditions. As treatment progresses, the program emphasizes planning for the transition out of care, which may include discharge planning, aftercare coordination, naloxone and overdose education, and follow-up after discharge. Transportation assistance is available to help adolescents and families access services.
