Full Continuum of Care

The center offers a complete spectrum of care for substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions in a hospital environment. Clients can move seamlessly from medical detox to short-term residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and traditional outpatient care. Each step is designed to reduce intensity over time while maintaining clinical and emotional support. Nursing staff are on-site 24 hours a day, and clients benefit from direct access to Bryan Medical Center’s full medical services.

Youth and Adult Recovery Tracks

The center provides separate, developmentally appropriate treatment for adolescents and adults. Youth programs integrate daily schoolwork through coordination with each student’s home district, ensuring education continues during recovery. Teen clients participate in individual therapy, group counseling, and family sessions while also engaging in recreational and life-skills activities. Adults take part in gender-specific groups that explore topics such as relationships, trauma recovery, stress management, and relapse prevention.

Evidence-Based and Integrated Treatment

Treatment combines medical care, therapy, and recovery education adapted to each person’s needs. Core methods include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and trauma-focused counseling, alongside 12-step work and relapse prevention strategies. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is available when appropriate. Because many clients experience both addiction and mental health symptoms, psychiatrists and mental health practitioners provide integrated support throughout treatment. Daily schedules balance therapy sessions with educational classes on health, anger management, and coping skills. Clients learn to identify triggers, strengthen communication, and develop personalized recovery plans.

Family Therapy and Community Involvement

Loved ones are able to join therapy sessions, educational programs, and discharge planning to build shared understanding and improve communication at home. The center also offers walk-in substance use evaluations and a free online assessment to help families take the first step toward care. Educational sessions explore the effects of addiction on physical and emotional health, helping families navigate early recovery together. After discharge, clients can continue in outpatient care and connect with the Independence Center Alumni Association, which hosts regular social gatherings and monthly peer support meetings.
