Trauma-Informed Care for Women

St. Monica’s provides a women-only, trauma-informed environment where recovery is supported through structure, compassion, and community. The campus blends comfort with function, featuring shared kitchens, gardens, and quiet spaces, creating a restorative atmosphere that helps women rebuild confidence while addressing the complex intersections of substance use and mental health.

Comprehensive Programs and Housing Continuum

The 8-week Short-Term Residential program offers intensive therapy and recovery education as a foundation for lasting change. Graduates may transition into a Therapeutic Community focused on employment, relapse prevention, and reintegration. Specialized tracks include Project Mother & Child, where mothers live with their children during treatment, and Women Are Sacred, which offers culturally responsive care for Native American women. Extended housing options such as AWE (Affirming Women’s Empowerment) and Next Step Transitional Housing provide safe, sober environments to practice independent living with continued access to counseling and community resources.

Whole-Person Treatment and Support Services

Clinical care at St. Monica’s includes individual and group counseling, psychoeducation, parenting classes, and family support. Programming integrates strengths-based approaches and holistic activities such as art, yoga, mindfulness, and spirituality. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) are available in coordination with counseling, and clients may continue MAT prescribed elsewhere. Each plan focuses on sustainable recovery and life skills that promote well-being beyond treatment.

Outpatient and Community-Based Care

For women living in the community, St. Monica’s offers outpatient counseling and case management to maintain self-sufficiency, prevent relapse, and strengthen problem-solving skills. Community support services include home visits, transportation assistance, and access to peer mentoring and recovery coaching. This continuum of care, spanning residential to outpatient, ensures that clients have consistent, wraparound support as they transition toward stable, independent living.
