Medication-focused outpatient program
With a focused approach on outpatient treatment for opioid use disorder, this facility offers a full range of MAT overseen by board-certified addiction physicians. Rather than offering medication as a standalone service, this program also integrates counseling.
What to expect at a typical visit
Clients check in at a self-service kiosk or smartphone app that directs them where to go next, whether it's to take a random urine drug screen before dosing or to check in for counseling. Next, patients wait to be notified that it’s time for their medication. Medical staff provide oral medication in private dosing booths and injectable medication in a private clinical area.
Counseling is required
Counseling is required for all clients; individual and group sessions are offered to help clients better understand triggers, manage emotions, and rebuild their lives. Various approaches — including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-related counseling, and relapse prevention — are offered, and telehealth appointments may be available when appropriate. Clients work with the treatment team to determine the frequency of sessions.
Long-term engagement focused on gradual progress
The structure of this program is designed to encourage clients to remain engaged in treatment over an extended period of time — the facility cites that the best outcomes for addiction recovery are seen after at least one year of treatment. Clients, counselors, and physicians work together to set goals and determine length of care. Treatment plans evolve as clients progress rather than following a fixed timeline.
Practical supports to keep services accessible and clients engaged
The clinic serves to adults, older adults, pregnant or postpartum women, and Spanish-speaking clients. To help clients overcome potential barriers to treatment, a variety of practical supports and assistance is available, including transportation assistance, discharge planning, naloxone education, and overdose prevention. Case management services can also help establish connections to community resources, social services, and housing services.
