Integrated Care for Substance Use and Mental Health
This 24-hour residential program serves adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions in one setting. Care starts with a comprehensive assessment covering addiction history, medical needs, nutrition, and emotional or psychiatric concerns, helping staff build a treatment plan that addresses the full picture rather than treating substance use in isolation. That integrated focus stands out for people who need residential support and mental health care at the same time.
IMAT and Evidence-Based Therapies
Recovery Center Missoula uses an integrated medications for addiction treatment (IMAT) model that brings together biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of recovery. Treatment includes withdrawal management (detox) as part of the overall continuum of care, along with individual therapy, group therapy, family counseling, and substance use education. Clients also engage in evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-related counseling, relapse prevention, contingency management, and 12-step facilitation.
Peer Support and Practical Help Beyond Treatment
The program pairs clinical care with services that help clients build stability during and after residential treatment. Peer recovery support connects clients with trained peers who understand recovery firsthand and help strengthen community ties. Case management, housing support, help accessing social services, employment counseling, vocational or educational support, and social skills development all extend the program’s value beyond therapy sessions. Transportation assistance also helps reduce barriers to staying engaged in care and follow-up services.
Light-Filled Setting With Space To Recover
Opened in 2013, the building was designed as part of the healing process, using natural materials, ambient light, and a balance of privacy and therapeutic community living. Its location near open space and trails along the Clark Fork corridor gives clients access to a calmer setting while staying connected to the Missoula community. Meals are another meaningful part of daily life, with professionally prepared menus, fresh ingredients, and a nutrition focus that supports physical recovery alongside treatment.
