Longstanding Care on a 44-Acre Campus

Livengrin Foundation has provided substance use treatment in Bensalem, Pennsylvania since 1966. Its 44-acre main campus includes three modern residential houses, a dedicated medical detox center, gym, dining hall, library, and landscaped outdoor spaces. The setting is designed to feel open and inviting rather than institutional, with air-conditioned rooms, private bathrooms, shared or private bedrooms, and common areas with televisions for downtime.

Full Continuum of Trauma-Informed Treatment

Clients can enter care at different points in their recovery, from medical detox to residential treatment. Nearby locations offer partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and general outpatient programs. Livengrin also operates a certified opioid treatment program and offers medications for addiction treatment (MAT) for alcohol and opioid use disorders, paired with counseling and relapse prevention. Evidence-based approaches and 12-step meetings are combined with art, music, yoga, and life skills work. On-site mental health services address co-occurring mental health conditions, including gambling addiction.

Dedicated First Responders Program

The First Responders Addiction Treatment (FRAT) program focuses on people who have served in high-stress roles, including law enforcement, firefighters, emergency medical services, and military veterans. Programming uses trauma-focused cognitive therapies, motivational enhancement, peer support, and daily psychoeducation to address both substance use and the cumulative impact of repeated exposure to crisis. Structured peer mentoring, ongoing FRAT meetings, and initiatives like Project Zero and the BOOT Program help reduce isolation, support suicide prevention, and offer continued connection after residential care ends.

Workforce Professionals Track

For working professionals and licensed employees, Livengrin offers a dedicated Workforce Professionals Program that balances treatment with career responsibilities. With the client’s permission, the team can coordinate with employers, employee assistance programs, or licensing boards to support safe return-to-work planning. Programming can include scheduled access to laptops and phones and holistic services such as personal training, yoga, mindfulness, art, and nutrition education.

Family Support, Aftercare, and Community Resources

Livengrin treats addiction as a family disease and invites loved ones into the process through couples groups, family education, and support groups. Staff work with clients to build aftercare plans that may include step-down outpatient services, peer and alumni connections, relapse prevention strategies, and referrals for housing, vocational, and community resources. Transportation assistance, case management, naloxone training, and flexible payment options are designed to lower practical barriers.
