Who is this facility a good fit for?
Best fit if: Women seeking gender-specific treatment for addiction; stepping down from higher levels of care who still need significant structure from day to day; needing integrated treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders; who are interested in research-backed treatment alongside peer support; looking for programming that is veteran and LGBTQ+ friendly.
Not a fit if: Adults seeking onsite withdrawal management (detox) or residential treatment; who are specifically seeking luxury accommodations or resort-style amenities.
What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Assessment and evaluation: Every client gets a comprehensive assessment and health evaluation upon admission. The results guide treatment planning.
- Tailored treatment plans: Treatment plans are tailored to the needs of each client. How care plans are structured can depend on each person’s substance use, mental health needs, and recovery goals.
- A range of research-based approaches: Individual, group, and family therapy are integrated into treatment. The exact approach may vary per individual; but, evidence-backed approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and MAT are commonly used. Dual diagnosis treatment occurs alongside treatment for addiction, and relapse prevention, peer support, and 12-Step support are all integrated throughout the program. Holistic treatment, like yoga, mindfulness meditation, and art therapy, may also be available.
Who you will meet with
- Psychiatric nurse practitioners: Psychiatric nurse practitioners handle medication management. They may also contribute to care planning and help clients meet their goals.
- Registered nurses: Registered nurses provide ongoing support, including distributing medication and monitoring progress.
- Licensed therapists: Clients work with an individual counselor for one-on-one sessions. Other providers may lead group or family therapy sessions.
- Support staff: Professionals like chemical dependency counselor assistants (CDCAs) and behavioral health technicians provide ongoing support to both clients and staff.
- Case managers: Case managers coordinate care throughout treatment and plan for discharge.
- Peer support: Peer recovery support is integrated throughout treatment.
Typical schedule
- Weekly expectations: Outpatient programs, including PHP and IOP, operate Monday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–1:30 p.m. There is also an afternoon/evening IOP option from 5–8:30 p.m., but this program may have a waiting list.
- Daily rhythm: Clients spend a lot of time in group sessions but also attend a weekly individual counseling session and a weekly case management session. Clients must also attend three outside recovery meetings each week.
Living experiences and amenities
- Treatment day amenities: Amenities available to clients on treatment days include internet access, a recreation room, and yoga.
- Welcoming, accessible environment: Dove Recovery is a women’s treatment environment. Programs are veteran and LGBTQ+ friendly, and the building is wheelchair accessible.
Aftercare
- Support after discharge: Clients receive a range of aftercare support. This includes alumni groups, support meetings, and referrals to outpatient and community resources. Clients can continue to contact their counselors after leaving the program, and family follow-up counseling is available.
- Affiliate housing may be available: This facility offers affiliate housing for clients who need that type of support. But, availability is limited, and there may be a waiting list.
Pre-admissions experience
We conducted a series of pre-admissions calls, the most recent on August 4, 2026, to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.
When we spoke with a representative of Dove Recovery, we found them to be direct and not salesy but felt that the conversation lacked warmth. They offered in-depth information about schedules and staff but could not provide precise information about group size or treatment planning. While they were transparent about capacity and waitlists, they did not know private pay rates or treatment planning details, though they offered to follow up with a supervisor to get the information we needed.
