Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults in early recovery who are medically stable and post-detox (not in need of acute medical detox); want flexible step-down care based on treatment progress; want daily group therapy using evidence-based and holistic approaches with support for co-occurring mental health; value a mind-body-spirit philosophy; have private insurance or can self-pay.
  • Not a fit if: Require acute medical detoxification or are not medically stable for residential admission; unwilling to participate in full-day group therapy and daily 12-step meetings; prefer resort-style luxury amenities; rely on Medicare or Medicaid for coverage.

What to expect

Beyond general standards, the facility places unique emphasis on:

Treatment planning and reassessment

  • Pre-admissions deep dive: Care begins with a comprehensive evaluation covering substance use, mental health, medical history, and legal background to ensure the right level of care.
  • Client-led plans: Treatment plans are built using the client’s own words and personal goals, incorporating safety planning, exact diagnoses, and medication management.
  • Continuous reassessment: A multidisciplinary clinical team continuously evaluates client progress using standardized clinical tools.
  • Readiness-based transitions: Stepping down to a lower level of care is based on clinical readiness and the achievement of specific treatment objectives. Typical program lengths range from 45 to 120 days.

Who you will meet with

  • Primary clinician: Clients are assigned one dedicated primary individual clinician.
  • Therapy team: Clients work with a diverse group of credentialed professionals, including counselors, social workers, substance abuse counselors, and certified peer recovery specialists. Each counselor works with a maximum of 8 clients to ensure personalized attention.
  • Medical and administrative staff: Care is supported by an attending physician, physician assistants, a nurse, a case manager, and the executive and admissions directors.

Typical schedule

  • Mornings: Clients wake up at 6:00 a.m. for breakfast, followed by morning exercise or a group exercise session.
  • Daily programming: The core of the day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, filled with groups, education sessions, individual therapy, and life skills training.
  • Integrative approaches: The schedule rotates through therapeutic activities including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), music therapy, and yoga.
  • Evenings and free time: Clients participate in a nightly 10th-step reflection process and 12-step meetings. From 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., clients have free time to read, watch TV, or call loved ones.
  • Visitation: In-person visitation takes place on Saturdays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for families who complete the weekly virtual education program. Pets are allowed to accompany visiting family members.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Home-like environment: Clients reside in a two-story home, situated in the natural surroundings of the Shenandoah Valley.
  • Accommodations: Clients stay in either private or shared bedrooms with twin beds, alongside accessible bathrooms with bathtubs and stand-up showers.
  • Indoor and outdoor areas: Clients use the fireplace in the indoor lounge, while the outdoor paved patio features a grill.
  • Collaborative cooking: Clients work together in a kitchen to prepare healthy meals.
  • Digital detox: Personal electronics are initially restricted, though clients receive designated daily time to call loved ones and sponsors.

Aftercare

  • Continuum of care: Clients can step down from residential care to partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient care.
  • Supported sober living: For clients in PHP and IOP, the facility offers peer-managed sober living houses.
  • Active alumni community: Graduates can join the Alumni Program, participating in monthly gatherings, an annual Alumni Picnic, and mentorship opportunities with current clients.
  • Cash-pay clients: The facility is starting a program for cash-pay clients – if they complete the full continuum of care and relapses within 90 days, they can be re-admitted for 21 days free of charge.

Verified Admissions Experience

Anonymous admissions inquiry conducted via phone on February 25, 2026, to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.

When we reached out to Bridging the Gaps, we spoke with an admissions specialist and a nurse, both of whom were transparent and informative. The call was answered promptly, and the team members clearly walked through clinical practices, care approaches, and program structure. They were more than willing to help and went into meaningful depth rather than giving surface-level answers.
