First 72 hours

When clients arrive at the hospital, they complete admission assessments to determine the right care unit for their needs. They also receive orientation and a nursing assessment. This all takes place within the first eight hours. Within the first 24 hours of treatment, clients meet with a psychiatrist and medical doctor, take lab tests, and have their home medications coordinated by clinical staff. Afterward, they meet with a therapist who works with them to complete a psychosocial evaluation. This helps staff create an appropriate treatment plan. Discharge planning begins from the start. With client permission, loved ones can be contacted and updated on the status of care.

Adult substance use treatment

A full continuum of substance use care is available for adults. This includes medical withdrawal management, residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Once clients are stabilized, residential treatment includes one-on-one and group therapy, 12-Step meetings, education groups, recreation, and spirituality. Housing is available for clients participating in outpatient programs. A specialized Transitions inpatient program, which integrates treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health, is offered for seniors using Medicare.

Mental health care for adolescents

Short-term psychiatric care is provided for teens ages 12-17. This program is designed for acute crisis situations and serious mental health concerns. Teens stay in gender-specific areas and receive 24/7 support. Certified teachers lead on-site academics so teens can keep up with their schoolwork while receiving treatment. Family therapy is offered for parents and guardians.

Dedicated psychiatric program for seniors

Alliance Health Center Meridian is home to the Milestones Senior Adult Program, which offers psychiatric care for adults ages 55 and over. Along with mental health care with medication management as needed, the program is designed to address age-related concerns and conditions. Therapy is combined with dietary recommendations and other supports to help clients boost their independent living skills. Loved ones are encouraged to be involved in treatment.
