Community-Oriented Services

The center offers a continuum of outpatient services and sober living programs designed for clients working toward stability. This includes individuals with substance use disorders, including opioids and alcohol, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Programming is intentionally community-oriented, offering structure, accountability, and hope. For those balancing parenting, employment, or unstable housing, the center provides flexible options and practical support.

Flexible Outpatient Care

Day treatment consists of daily care without overnight stays. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) is available in two tracks: daytime and evening This allows clients to choose treatment that fits family and work demands. Services include weekly individual therapy, education sessions, relapse prevention planning, and activities that encourage healthy coping skills. The program combines evidence-based therapy with 12-step facilitation.

Safe and Stable Housing

For clients needing a sober living environment, the center operates two gender-specific properties. Each house offers a mix of private and shared rooms. Located near bus routes, shopping areas, and the South Davis Recovery Club, the homes offer accessibility for those without reliable transportation. Housing staff create an atmosphere of community, helping clients practice life skills while preparing for independence.

Family Programs and Aftercare

Family members participate in dedicated programs to learn about addiction, practice healthier communication, and develop strategies for ongoing support. Couples and family counseling are also available for those rebuilding relationships strained by substance use. Aftercare continues with weekly alumni meetings at the center. These gatherings create an ongoing community where current and past clients share recovery experiences and provide mutual encouragement.

Medications and Practical Support

Care staff can prescribe medications for addiction treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol use disorders when needed. MAT services may be combined with medications for mental health conditions. Therapy approaches include trauma-informed counseling, relapse prevention, and anger management. Clients with co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns receive integrated care to address both conditions together. Active Recovery also offers case management, social service connections, and employment counseling.
