Women-Only Residential Care Focused on Substance Use

The Well - Intermediate Residential in Norfolk offers 24-hour residential care for adult women. The intermediate residential program is designed for people whose primary need is substance use treatment, with added support available for co-occurring mental health needs and trauma histories.

High-Structure Weekly Programming With Licensed Counseling

Clients complete a minimum of 30 hours of programming each week. Licensed counselors provide individual, group, and family counseling, and the program uses structured approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, trauma-related counseling, anger management, contingency management, and 12-step facilitation.

Built-In Medical Oversight and Health Education

A licensed registered nurse completes a health assessment within 24 hours of admission and provides ongoing medical care oversight. A health and wellness coordinator offers individual and group education related to health and medications. The program supports medications for addiction treatment (MAT), including naltrexone and nicotine replacement, and it can also accept clients who receive medications for alcohol or opioid use disorders from an outside prescriber.

24/7 Recovery Coaching, Peer Support, and Practical Transition Planning

Support continues outside of scheduled groups through recovery coaches who are available 24/7 for encouragement, problem-solving, and accountability. Certified peer support specialists provide recovery services grounded in lived experience. Case management helps clients build skills and plan next steps, including connecting to community resources such as transportation assistance, housing supports, and employment-related services, as available.
