Supportive Space for Mothers, Trauma Survivors, and Other Women

As a facility that serves only women, the atmosphere is designed to feel safe and supportive for clients to focus on recovery without outside pressures. The program is designed for women who may also be mothers or trauma survivors, emphasizing stability, connection, and the chance to heal alongside peers with similar experiences.

Phased Treatment Model Empowers Women for Long-Term Recovery and Independence

Recovery unfolds through a clear progression: orientation, Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III. Each step brings greater responsibility and freedom—from early restrictions to eventually having cell phone access and outside work. This structure helps women build confidence while practicing recovery skills in a gradually less restrictive setting.

Teaching Skills for Independent, Career-Driven Lives

Residents receive hands-on training in cooking, budgeting, and home management, plus guidance in finding part-time work or volunteer opportunities. By Phase II, women are expected to engage in the community through employment or service, building a bridge to independence. Employment assistance and continuing-care groups further support long-term stability.

Experiential Therapies That Build Confidence

Equine therapy offers trust-building and responsibility, while art therapy provides space for self-expression and stress relief. Cooking and sewing sessions foster both practical skills and self-esteem, creating opportunities for growth in daily life as well as in recovery.

Client Reviews

Many clients describe Turning Point as life-changing, crediting staff support and structure with helping them stay sober and rebuild their lives. At the same time, some express struggling with rigid rules, food quality, and staff approach.

  • Treatment Quality & Outcomes (85% positive): Many women report lasting recovery, regaining custody of children, and learning life skills that supported independence. Several note being clean for years after the program. "Turning Point taught me so much I still use today."
  • Staff & Care Experience (70% positive): Staff are often praised as compassionate, motivating, and life-changing influences. Some reviewers, however, felt staff were harsh or punitive rather than supportive. "The women that worked there saved my life."
  • Facility & Environment: Experiences with meals and living conditions are mixed. Some appreciated the structured routines, while others criticized the food (mostly soups) and described the program as overly focused on housekeeping.
  • Access & Process: Alumni valued the opportunity to return as staff, which reinforced their recovery. However, a few reviewers mentioned that processes were drawn out in ways that added costs and emotional stress.
