Balancing treatment and daily life
Freedom Recovery’s outpatient programs are designed to provide a way for clients to recover without stepping away from daily responsibilities. Some people may start in outpatient care, while others may step down to it from a residential facility. Outpatient treatment usually lasts between four and six months overall, though the timeline will vary depending on individual needs, schedules, and goals.
Step-down transitions
Clients can move through an outpatient care continuum as their needs change, and as they are ready to graduate to less intensive levels of treatment. After completing all-day PHP, clients can move to IOP, which meets three-to-five days per week. Upon finishing an IOP, clients can transition to regular, less frequent outpatient sessions. Being able to step down between these levels at one facility makes for smoother transitions and greater continuity of care.
Evidence-based, trauma-informed care
A few of the proven approaches used by therapists are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Trauma-informed counseling is also provided depending on client needs. These approaches combined can help clients process emotions and the underlying issues which may contribute to substance use.
12-step meetings and recovery support
The Twelve Steps are a foundational part of Freedom Recovery’s outpatient programs. These principles emphasize personal responsibility, connecting with community, accountability, and spiritual growth. Clients meet with recovery coaches who can help them to apply these principles to everyday life. Additionally, clients participate in mindfulness, physical activity, and education sessions on topics such as relapse prevention and coping skills.
