Specialized care is available for clients with co-occurring mental health conditions and trauma, as well as veterans, LGBTQ+ clients, and older adults. This includes treatment for anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) and psychiatric medications can be prescribed as appropriate for clients who need them.

Therapies and peer support

Evidence-based therapies used throughout The Recovery Village Umatilla’s programs include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and trauma counseling. These are delivered through individual, group, and family sessions. Experiential therapies such as art and music therapy are also offered. Clients attend 12-step meetings and are guided through 12-step work. Being introduced to this community gives clients a long-term peer network for camaraderie and mutual accountability.

Recreational amenities

The campus is set in the small city of Umatilla, Florida, giving clients a quieter place to recover. During downtime, clients can enjoy a swimming pool, volleyball and basketball courts, a fitness center, and outdoor spaces. Weekly cookouts give peers a chance to socialize, get some sun, and unwind together.

Aftercare planning

Naloxone training and relapse prevention education are woven into care. Before formal treatment ends, case managers can connect clients to step-down outpatient care, community resources, self-help groups, mentorship, and assistance with securing stable housing.
