Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults who want a smaller residential program rather than a large institutional facility; have co-occurring mental health conditions; prefer a collaborative care team over seeing independent providers; want a program that combines evidence-based treatment with wellness activities; want to continue care after residential treatment through a connected outpatient program; or are veterans interested in veteran-focused programming.

  • Not a fit if: Adults who want a large campus with resort-style amenities; seek private accommodations; or prefer a nicotine-free campus.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • A multidisciplinary team: Care plans are based on a comprehensive assessment that is performed before treatment begins. Planning involves various professionals, including a psychiatrist, psychologist, other medical providers, and other members of the care team.
  • Weekly reviews: A collaborative team evaluates care plans every week and adjusts as needed according to client needs. Goals are reassessed as recovery progresses. Clients are fully involved in planning.
  • Step-down care: In addition to residential services, Compassion Behavioral Health also offers PHP, IOP, and standard outpatient treatment. Clients can step up or down between levels of care as needed.

Who you will meet with

  • Psychiatrist: Psychiatrists may assess overall mental health, diagnose co-occurring mental health conditions, prescribe medications, and participate in treatment planning.
  • Psychologist: Psychologists may provide counseling for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions and contribute to treatment planning.
  • Physicians: Medical doctors manage medications during detox to help keep clients comfortable.
  • Therapists: Therapists on the team provide individual, group, and family therapy using various techniques, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapy.

Typical schedule

  • Daily: Daily schedules in the residential program vary based on each client's treatment plan. The day-to-day may include group therapy, medication management, physician oversight, and wellness programming. Wellness activities are also offered; options include yoga, a mobile gym that visits three times a week, pet therapy, and outdoor time in the facility's courtyard.
  • Weekly: Clients attend individual therapy sessions once a week where they may participate in various types of therapy; some of these include motivational interviewing, neurofeedback, mindfulness practices, and relapse prevention counseling. Clients may also actively participate in weekly care plan evaluations.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Comfortable residential accommodations: Clients share rooms with one roommate and use a shared bathroom. Rooms have TVs with various streaming services included (Netflix, Hulu, HBO). The small census (20 clients maximum) helps create a community atmosphere.
  • Meals: The facility provides three catered meals a day; clients can choose what they want from a menu before delivery.
  • Recreational opportunities: Clients can spend time in the courtyard, and outdoor vaping and smoking areas are available. Other activities may include pet therapy, yoga, and visiting the mobile gym.

Aftercare

  • Outpatient care options: The facility also offers PHP, IOP, and standard outpatient treatment. Clients can transition to lower levels of care within the same organization as needed.
  • Case management and ongoing support: Case managers may help coordinate ongoing counseling and aftercare services, and virtual therapy may be an option for helping clients maintain therapeutic relationships after transitioning out of residential treatment.
  • Additional alumni support: Other aftercare resources include relapse prevention planning, family programming, and ongoing alumni support.

Pre-admissions experience

We conducted a series of pre-admissions calls, the most recent on July 22, 2026, to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.

When we spoke with a representative from Compassion Behavioral Health, they were patient, polite, and responsive, though a bit subdued. We did not feel pressured, and they were transparent about costs, census, and treatment planning. They answered all of our questions, although we occasionally had to prompt them for more specific information.

Some clients suggest improving meal quality and maintaining stronger safety practices. "The facility is clean and I found my room very comfortable."
