Who is this facility a good fit for?
Best fit if: Adults who need medical detox followed by residential treatment in one continuum of care; prefer a structured 30-35 day residential program with daily cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy groups; value a comfortable campus with recreational amenities; need multidisciplinary support throughout treatment; are comfortable in a mid-sized residential community.
Not a fit if: Adults who want frequent family visitation or immediate personal phone access; prefer a small boutique program or guaranteed private accommodations; are seeking outpatient-only treatment rather than residential care.
What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Medical detox and withdrawal management: Clients in detox receive 24/7 monitoring and withdrawal management. Medications selected are based on the specific substance involved.
- Comprehensive clinical assessment: After detox, clients move to residential care and meet with a primary therapist who does a detailed assessment to understand underlying concerns, trauma, relapse triggers, and treatment priorities.
- Personalized treatment planning: The primary therapist and the client work together to build a care plan. Recovery goals are established together, and the plan focuses on concerns identified during assessment. Clients meet with their primary therapist once or twice a week to review progress and discuss whether treatment priorities should change.
Who you will meet with
- Counselors and therapy groups: Aside from the assigned primary therapist, clients will also work with counselors during CBT and DBT groups, educational classes, and skill-building sessions.
- Case management support: A case manager helps with legal paperwork, employer documentation, court-related matters, and administrative coordination.
- Nursing and behavioral health support: Medical personnel such as nurses and behavioral health technicians support clients during detox and residential treatment. They provide daily supervision and continued monitoring.
Typical schedule
- Daily treatment schedule: Mindfulness class takes place from 8:45-9:45 a.m., followed by free time and a process group led by a therapist. After lunch, clients take part in CBT or DBT groups and additional skills groups. Clients have dinner and free time in the evenings and can attend nightly on-site AA meetings.
- Family visitation and communication: No visitation is allowed during treatment, with limited communication in early treatment. A landline becomes accessible first and personal cell phones are allowed after about two weeks.
Living experiences and amenities
- Living accommodations: Clients stay in a room with one roommate. Private rooms are available for an additional fee. The facility houses about 45 residential clients on the campus.
- Campus amenities and recreation: Amenities include a pool, gym, basketball court, pickleball court, beach outings, and sunrise beach trips on occasion. Laundry is taken care of by the facility's staff.
Aftercare
- Continuing care and step-down treatment: Step-down care includes PHP and IOP, which operate at a different facility. Nightly AA meetings introduce clients to peers in recovery before discharge. Continuing care services and discharge planning are available as well.
