Step-down outpatient care
While some clients may start their treatment in outpatient care, others can transition to outpatient programs from residential care, giving them a gradual pathway back toward independent living. Care levels offered at Virtue At The Point Outpatient include PHP, HIOP, IOP, and regular outpatient treatment. Regular outpatient sessions are the least frequent and provide the highest level of independence. Programs are flexible so clients can balance them with daily responsibilities such as work and family life.
Substance use, mental health, and co-occurring treatment
Along with substance use, the facility treats primary mental health conditions, as well as co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns, which can often coincide. Clinicians lead clients in approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Medications for mental health can be prescribed as needed.
Holistic therapies and 12-step peer support
In addition to evidence-based therapies, programs offer educational process groups, as well as mindfulness activities like yoga and meditation. Art and music therapy are offered for those for whom a creative outlet helps to process thoughts and regulate emotions. Clients also participate in frequent 12-step meetings, including Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). These groups introduce people to a long-term peer community.
Aftercare and community resources
Before outpatient treatment ends, staff help clients make a long-term plan adapted to their recovery needs and goals. Relapse prevention education is provided, and case managers can connect clients to community resources, vocational resources, and continued counseling.
