Who is this facility a good fit for?
Best fit if: Adults who have substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions; who need intensive treatment but do not require 24-hour residential care; are balancing recovery with work, school, or family responsibilities; are relocating to Utah and who may benefit from nearby transitional living.
Not a fit if: Adults requiring medical detox or 24-hour supervision; who are seeking a highly medication-focused program; looking for a traditional 12-Step treatment model.
What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Finding the right level of care: Prior to admission, the admissions team will verify insurance and conduct clinical assessments to determine the most appropriate level of care (PHP, IOP, or outpatient).
- Personalized care plans: Once admitted, clients work directly with their assigned therapist during their first individual session to develop treatment goals and a collaborative plan. Care plans continue to evolve as a client progresses through their recovery.
Who you will meet with
- Master’s-level therapists: Clients work with master's-level therapists who lead process groups and psychoeducation groups. They also provide weekly individual therapy and monitor treatment goals during care.
- Medical support: Medical providers will meet with the client weekly and manage medications. Individuals can have their medications adjusted during treatment, but therapy remains the primary focus.
Typical schedule
- PHP: Clients in PHP meet five days per week for about six hours of daily programming. This usually lasts about 30 days. During treatment, clients participate in therapist-led discussions and psychoeducation, which includes topics such as addiction education, brain science, coping skills, emotional regulation, and mindfulness. Evidence-based therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
- IOP: The IOP schedule typically consists of three days per week at three to four hours each day for about eight weeks. This is best for clients beginning to return to daily responsibilities while staying plugged in to structured clinical support.
- Day-to-day experience: Sessions focus on therapy and skill building. Clients have frequent interaction with the same clinical team and regular individual counseling is done alongside group therapy. Peer support is also available from others facing similar recovery challenges. The facility also incorporates wellness and community activities such as gym visits, walks, hikes, and mindfulness exercises.
Living experiences and amenities
- Supportive housing: Transitional living is available through the facility for clients relocating or needing additional structure and support. Clients attending PHP or IOP can continue to live in a recovery-focused environment while taking part in outpatient treatment.
Aftercare
- Step-down care: Clients can transition to lower levels of care as their clinical needs change. This means they can work with the same organization without having to find a new provider at each stage.
- Alumni programming: Lifetime alumni support is available to clients who have completed formal treatment. They are invited to recovery-focused events and activities, and can stay connected through private online alumni groups as well.
