Young Adult-Focused Residential Care
Newport Institute offers evidence-based residential treatment for young adults ages 18 to 35 navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, or eating disorders. Less than an hour from Seattle, the program provides round-the-clock support in a peaceful, wooded setting. Each resident follows an individualized plan integrating medical, clinical, and experiential therapies alongside life-skills and educational components that prepare them for long-term recovery.
Nature-Based Healing Environment
Nestled among evergreens near Echo Lake, the coed campus features lodge-style architecture, on-site gardens, and open-air spaces for reflection. Adventure Therapy activities such as hiking, kayaking, and outdoor mindfulness sessions help clients reconnect with nature and themselves. Indoors, art and music studios, a gym, meditation rooms, and a computer lab encourage balance and creativity, while chef-prepared meals and communal dining foster shared connection and self-care.
Whole-Person Treatment Philosophy
Newport Institute’s approach goes beyond managing symptoms to address the underlying causes of distress, including trauma, attachment challenges, and life-stage transitions. Clinicians use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and attachment-based family therapy to support emotional regulation, identity development, and stronger family relationships. This whole-person model helps young adults build emotional resilience and renewed direction in their lives.
Lifelong Community and Alumni Support
Recovery at Newport Institute continues well beyond discharge. Graduates connect to regional alumni networks offering virtual and in-person gatherings, peer mentoring, and family-focused support groups. These ongoing programs reinforce coping skills, community belonging, and healthy daily routines, helping young adults stay grounded as they return to school, careers, and independent living.
