Secluded Riverfront Setting

The residential campus offers a secluded, wooded environment that feels removed from daily stress. Clients live in gender-separate cottages with semi-private or private rooms and shared bathrooms, share household responsibilities, and help cook their own meals. This structure is designed to make treatment feel more like everyday living, helping people practice routines they can bring back home.

Withdrawal Management (Detox) and Residential Treatment

The Estate at River Bend provides medical withdrawal management in a separate, home-like facility on campus, with private bedrooms, around-the-clock nursing, and physician-guided medication protocols. After acute withdrawal, most people move into 30–90 days of residential treatment. Care includes medical and mental health assessments, individual and group therapy, and the option for medications for addiction treatment (MAT) to reduce cravings and support safer, more stable early recovery.

Care for Co-Occurring Disorders and Trauma

Many clients arrive with both substance use concerns and mental health conditions. The center offers focused care for co-occurring mental health disorders, including trauma. Therapy options include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma integration work, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness-based stress management, smoking-cessation support, and 12-step fundamentals. Nature-based experiential therapy and ropes courses add a hands-on way to build trust, communication skills, and emotional resilience.

Dedicated Programming for Veterans and Working Adults

A key specialty is the Hero’s Path program for veterans and active-duty service members. Programming is trauma-informed and tailored to military experiences, including support for post-traumatic stress, grief, and reintegration into civilian life, with dedicated staff coordinating care with the Department of Veterans Affairs and military community programs. For working adults and employers, the center also offers employee assistance program (EAP) services that can connect professionals to treatment while helping them navigate workplace expectations, legal protections, and job-related stress.

Continuum of Care and Long-Term Support

Beyond residential treatment, The Estate at River Bend is part of the Bradford Health Services network, offering step-down partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and outpatient counseling. Alumni and aftercare programs, virtual meetings, and family support groups help people stay connected, practice relapse-prevention skills, and maintain recovery while resuming work, school, and family responsibilities.
