In Crisis?

Overview

Call260-370-8498 MessageMessage Facility WebsiteVisit Website

Residential substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment for adults, with upscale accommodations and an individualized approach. Daily schedules are intensive, with groups and focused one-on-one therapy. Care plans are reassessed every week and changes can be made as needed. Many staff members are in recovery themselves, which gives them greater insight to connect directly with clients. In the evenings, members of the local 12-step community come to the facility to provide support and peer guidance. Case management can arrange for working professionals to stay connected to outside responsibilities. The facility accepts private insurance.

Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Seeking a high-end residential program with next-steps planning; needing to balance treatment with professional or academic responsibilities; looking for tailored care with long-term recovery support; using private insurance.

  • Not a fit if: Requiring acute hospital-level medical or psychiatric treatment; seeking a low-touch approach without clinical structure and medication management as needed; using Medicaid or state-funded coverage.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • First 72 hours: During detox, the primary goal is helping the client comfortably manage withdrawal symptoms under medical supervision. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) can be prescribed as needed to ease symptoms and make sure clients recover in a safe environment.
  • Detailed assessments: Within the first few days, clients complete assessments with a medical doctor, a nurse, a nutritionist, and a case manager, who work together to make a treatment plan honed to work for each client.
  • Daily review: The core treatment team meets every morning to discuss client needs, track their progress, and adapt care plans as needed.

“We're really looking at the individual who's coming in, and the specific needs and issues and family situation that they come from.” — Dr. Alison Tarlow, Psy.D, Chief Clinical Officer

Who you will meet with

  • Trained therapists: Each client is assigned to a master's-level individual therapist. The caseload is kept intentionally small, with an average of about eight clients to every therapist.
  • Case managers: A case manager handles non-clinical issues like FMLA paperwork, legal matters, job situations, and housing.
  • 24/7 medical team: Clients receive round-the-clock medical care and meet continuously with clinicians, who manage their medications and make adjustments as needed.

Typical schedule

  • Mornings: The day begins between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Once clients are awake, those who take medications receive their doses, and then everyone has breakfast.
  • Active daily schedule: Once they are stable, clients participate in a full day of therapy and education from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. This includes daily one-on-one therapy, intensive therapy twice per week, and weekly family sessions.
  • 12-step support: Individuals from community programs like AA and NA visit the center to hold meetings and support clients. They provide valuable education and insight on long-term recovery.
  • Downtime: At the end of the day, clients have time to rest and socialize with others.
  • Meeting outside demands: While general cell phone and laptop use is restricted, case managers can accommodate scheduled, supervised time for clients who need to tend to work and school obligations.

“When they come into residential treatment... you're in their daily life with them, and that really allows for the level of intimacy for that connection, for people to feel safe, to be able to do the work that they need to do.” — Dr. Alison Tarlow, Psy.D, Chief Clinical Officer

Living experiences and amenities

  • Private, spacious environment: Clients stay in private rooms. The facility is surrounded by plenty of outdoor space, including a covered picnic pavilion.
  • Meals and snacks: An in-house chef prepares daily meals, and the break area includes a snack and beverage station.
  • Indoor recreation: The game room is equipped with ping pong and foosball tables. There is also an on-site movie theater where clients can gather to watch films.
  • Fitness: Outside of therapy hours, clients can work out in an on-site gym and play basketball on an outdoor court.
  • Professional haircuts: A barber visits the center on a regular basis to give clients haircuts.

Aftercare

  • Transition planning: Staff actively helps clients look for their next recovery steps, finding ongoing local facilities to ensure continuity of care.
  • Ongoing alumni connections: Alumni have access to weekly Zoom support groups and private social media pages. Dedicated alumni coordinators stay in touch with clients to help keep them on track.
